Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, let’s start with the most important commitment of all: nurturing our relationship with ourselves. Self-love is not just a trendy concept; it’s the foundation of everything we create, share, and achieve in life. When we ground ourselves in self-compassion, we unlock our self-power—a wellspring of confidence and clarity that spills into every aspect of our lives.

Self-love is where it all begins. It’s the compass that guides us, the fuel that energizes us, and the safe space where we can grow and thrive. When you start with self, you anchor your worth, align your actions with your values, and show up fully in the world. Here are 10 simple yet powerful ways to embrace and celebrate self-love this year, helping you stay grounded and intentional every step of the way.

Happy New Year 2025!
Happy New Year 2025!

1. Start Each Day with Gratitude

Begin every morning by listing three things you’re grateful for. Gratitude connects you to the present moment, grounding you in joy and abundance. When you appreciate life’s simple blessings, you create a ripple effect of positivity that shapes your day.

2. Set Small, Meaningful Goals

Big dreams are built with small, intentional steps. Focus on goals that matter to you. Achieving even tiny milestones boosts your confidence and reinforces your belief in your own potential.

3. Practice Saying ‘No’

Your energy is sacred. Saying “no” to what doesn’t serve you allows you to say “yes” to what does. Boundaries are an act of self-respect and protect the power you need to give your best to the things and people that matter most.

4. Schedule “Me Time” Without Guilt

Self-love flourishes when you prioritize yourself. Whether it’s reading, journaling, taking a walk, or doing absolutely nothing, unapologetically carving out “me time” reminds you that your needs are just as important as anyone else’s.

5. Declutter Your Spaces

A clear space reflects a clear mind. By organizing your surroundings, you create a physical environment that mirrors your intentions and supports your goals. It’s not just tidying up—it’s making room for the life you want to build.

6. Celebrate Your Wins

Every step forward matters. Reflect on your successes, whether it’s completing a project, making a tough decision, or simply showing up for yourself. Recognizing these wins empowers you to keep going.

7. Nourish Your Body

Your body is your home—treat it with love. Feed it nourishing foods, move in ways that bring you joy, and rest when you need to. A well-cared-for body is a strong foundation for a powerful mind and spirit.

8. Speak Kindly to Yourself

How you talk to yourself matters. Replace self-doubt with affirmations like, “I am enough,” “I am capable,” and “I am worthy.” These words aren’t just nice to hear—they’re transformative truths that shape how you see and experience life.

9. Surround Yourself with Positivity

The company you keep influences your energy. Choose relationships, media, and activities that lift you up and inspire you to be your best self. Let go of negativity and watch your inner light shine brighter.

10. Embrace Imperfection

Perfection is an illusion. Self-love means embracing your flaws and celebrating your growth. Every stumble is a step forward, every mistake a chance to learn. Progress, not perfection, is the goal.

Ground Yourself, Empower Your Life

When you invest in self-love, you’re building the foundation for a life of purpose and fulfillment. Everything in your life—your relationships, your goals, your passions—flows from the relationship you have with yourself. When you’re grounded in self-love, your actions become intentional, your energy magnetic, and your confidence unshakable.

In 2025, let’s start with self. Celebrate who you are, honor your journey, and watch how your self-power transforms everything you touch. This is your year to shine from the inside out.

It’s Day 28! Can you believe this month is almost over? To continue with our healthy resolutions,

today is a reminder to eat a healthy snack.

It’s easy to be distracted with other foods that may not be so healthy, however it’s all about how you look at it…. Food is Fun!

What do I mean?

In my household I have 3 teenage girls, all very different, with very different food likes. This makes for a bit of a challenge when planning meals.

My oldest daughter Arlen, is a Vegetarian and follows a strict vegetarian diet. My youngest daughter Zelie is Type 1 Diabetic and has a very strict low/no carb diet. My other teen Arielle is pretty content with food in general. (She’s the easiest to cook for...lol)

In thinking of snacks for my family, the regular fruits and vegetables won’t work for a diabetic menu as fruits are very high in carbs.

What Zelie and I found out through trial and error was that her favorite low carb snack was sliced yellow and orange bell peppers.

These are perfect for a quick healthy snack and it’s only 6 carbs per serving, which is perfect for Zelie.

You can add a savory cream cheese spread on the side as a dip, which would only add 2 extra carbs, again, making this is a perfect and low carb- low sugar healthy snack.

Zelie loves these so much, she eats more Bell peppers now, than ever before.

Arlen my oldest teen, can be picky with her snacks, but her favorite healthy snack is Apple wedges with Peanut Butter. She will have this snack several times throughout the week. This is a perfect snack for a vegetarian diet as the Peanut Butter gives her the protein she needs and the Apple assures her the vitamins and nutrients needed for her daily nutrition.

As an added option when the Peanut Butter is out, she will make a honey cream cheese dip to go with her Apple wedges. And let me tell you, this is Yummy!

I love this dip too, and it goes well with any fruit and vegetable like celery or carrots.

Arielle likes Smoothies. Any day, Any time, Any kind. This is one of the best healthy snack options, because you can literally blend any combination of fruits and/or vegetables into a smoothie. Add a little Greek yogurt for a smooth creamy texture and honey to taste…. And Voila! A delicious creamy beverage/Meal that is jam packed with vitamins, nutrients and a whole lot of goodness!

I have to say Smoothies are one of my favorite healthy snacks too! I love making these for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are even better when I add a little bit of vanilla protein powder…. Yum!

My husband’s favorite smoothie is a mixed greens Smoothie, with Spinach, Kale, Celery and Apple and a little honey to add sweetness.

I recently purchased a dehydrator and a home deli meat slicer to slice fruits and veggies to make my dehydrated chips. I made Apple chips, Cinnamon Apple Chips, Sweet Pear Chips, Homemade Banana Chips and Orange Slices! And they were delicious! They didn’t even last a day, they all disappeared faster than it took to make them. This is a great sign…. My family loved them as much as I thought they would.

Today I’m planning on making kiwi chips and Zucchini chips along with the delicious Cinnamon Apple Chips. I’ll be sure to make a video to share later. I’m pretty sure they will be delicious! And what matters to me, is that they are nutritious with no preservatives or unwanted added ingredients, just pure raw fruits and veggies with wholesome goodness.

If you’re in the market for a dehydrator, I purchased the Gardenmaster Dehydrator by Nesco and I love it!! It’s easy to use and you can purchase more trays if your snack making increases.

So, Day 28 - Eat Healthy snacks… If you don’t have or like any of the items I shared above, it’s OK. The important thing is to Think Healthy.

You can start by changing out some of the current snacks to other healthier options. Set the intention and take action towards a healthier life… your body will love you for it!

What is your favorite go-to snack? We’d love to know!
